Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Marv’s Customer Centric Schedule

We can give Ellison credit for one thing, he’s made abundantly clear he doesn’t give a sh=t about the employees!

Just listen, he tells you in every podcast. He is implementing this awful new schedule. And his business agenda comes before anything else. From his gaze up high, we’re simply dirt under his feet.

It is simply time to get far away from Lowe’s & Mr. Ellison. He’s has very quickly made working for Lowe’s untennible.

But he will ask God to bless you as you’re walked out the door.

Lowes will close in less than two years. If you are employed at lowes PLEASE get out before it is too late.

Messy Marvin, 1 weekend off every 8 weeks. No employee bonuses given out this past quarter, no raises in almost 2 -years, no over time allowed in the past 18 months. 1 person doing the job of 4 empty positions. Customer service is second to cleaning bathrooms or getting shopping carts. Whole departments are left uncovered by any employee and customers are not helped by anyone.

Marvin “Merlin the Magician” Ellison will inflate the value of Lowe’s, achieve his stated numbers, get his millions of dollars and leave. You will never become better than your competitors if you only clone their best practices. Wondering if the Corporate Office partake in Centric Scheduling or any other mandates that the stores have to follow? But all of this is being done for better service to the customers. Merlin your employees are still your best asset for now. Employees with set schedules tend to be more reliable. Believe it or not Merlin there is life outside of Lowe’s. I’ll wager you have weekends off or consecutive days off to be with family and friends.

How customer "centric" scheduling looks in my store.... 3 employees in the millwork department on Thursday, then 1 employee on saturday and Sunday. If you work at night you are lucky to see 3 or 4 red vest on the floor. Plumbing 1 person scheduled for the day. Lumber rarely covered. We have been on this new "centric" scheduling for over 3 months ,yes it is not employee friendly but it is truly terrible for customer service and the apperance of the store. Customers are commenting on how hard it is to find an employee. I would like to tell them to stop looking because no one is scheduled. The "new" department managers dont work in departments even when they are scheduled as coverage. I have started to look for a new job. After being here for 16 years and going thru all the things Lowe's has done to its employees Chinese overtime to department specialist, job eliminations, elimination of dept. Managers and then hiring department supervisors a year later, eliminating HR and loss prevention and now scheduling that allows no weekends or 2 days off together to its full timers not to mention cutting part timers hours to zero hours. Managers with very little people skills or for that matter management or leadership skills. This new customer centric schedule is good for one thing...cutting payroll, which is also cutting customer service.

Lots of haters here. Marvin is simply doing what is best for the customers and that is to have employees in the store when they are shopping. The real question is how would you haters do the scheduling if you were the head of all stores. Any schedule that is favorable to employees is going to be unfavorable to customers seeking help in the stores especially on the weekend. Right now full time employees get one weekend off every month. That means at least 25% of your full time employees are OFF every single weekend. That schedule would never work if your goal was to be the number one retailer.

Hilarious because the scheduling tool schedules everyone off on one day in the department or it schedules people to all work when it is slow at night. The scheduling is a joke and is just done to make the employees miserable so the full timers will leave and he can attempt to hire part timers.....but even part timers don't want a Lowes job and can't pass the d--g test if they do want a job so need I say more.

i will not make light of "may God Bless" ending to his propaganda casts but i do think he's slipped into the wrong temple. Praying to the wall street and DE Shaw golden calf is not the way. Regardless, it has been made abundantly clear that the employees are just semi-necessary minions . Now of course almost every big company views it in that way, but just once i would like a high authority to come right out and say " we really do not care about you, only what you can provide the beast ...now be quiet and do as we say" I would so appreciate the candor. Wonder is marvin will open or close on Easter....i know i will be scheduled.

Lowes s---ed long before he arrived, and is abysmal since he has.

Managers arent fit to run a bath let alone departments.

Ive sent emails, filed complaints, and bashing the bees nest. I dont give a single fkk any longer
