The only working woman with young kids in my team and I was the one to go - seemed the middle aged men in the team all survived. Now down to a ratio of 20% women - diversity BS!

It's perfectly obvious that the whole diversity trip at SAP is mere posturing in order to demonstrate how the company is in tune with the prevailing Zeitgeist, a "leftist/progressive" cultural facade erected above a distinctly un-leftist business philosophy. Or put it another way, SAP is in hock to Black Rock/Wall Street financially, and to CNN/MSNBC/The Guardian culturally. It's a very smart trick, and SAP play it exceedingly well.
If anybody in the rank and file hasn't realized by now virtually all large multinational companies are about "say one thing, do another", then I guess you're never going to catch on.
Direct management always claims to have had no say in who was let go. I really don't think it's coincidence all the people let go in my immediate area were also the people who would most frequently question management on nonsensical directives.
The squeaky wheels DID get the oil. The fact they were older, black or female seems to have had no bearing on at least one group.
Plenty of middle aged men were let go. They will hire younger people with less experience and for less money. Will backfire, some incredible talent was lost this week, and now everyone competing for same roles. Hunger games is perfect analogy
Diversity or women ratio is for publicity to show company is progressive,
Or for one dominant white man to maintain control of his department and only hire minorities instead of another white man
When going gets tough only white men left
Diversity and inclusion is fake news, just like their cloud growth and revenue. It's veneer over rotten teeth.
You're better off somewhere else. Why waste your energy and talent in a company that lacks integrity and value?
@alw nailed it below:
True:
SAP is an inclusive company supportive of autistic hires, LGBTQ, ...
Also true:
But not diverse
SAP is an inclusive company supportive of autistic hires, LGBTQ, ...
But not diverse. Look at the mgmt team, DBS leadership - white German males predominantly and disproportionately. Good luck!
Sorry to hear this but not surprised - they don’t take diversity seriously- a lot of talk with no action. Know that you are valuable and will find a home in a better org
