Thread regarding SAP layoffs

Upper management to announce when layoff is done

Why can’t top management stop the fears, rumors and non productivity with some info about the layoff to the employees like when it will end and also a statement to the ones affected thanking for their service and giving some apathy. Employees are people family and friends. Business has the right to do this but at least do it with a little caring. So far nothing.

Leadership is the real problem at SAP, period.

Can't speak for executive board leaders.

However, at the mid-management level, I've seen many managers are self-serving. They are on constant international trips without making any impact. They show no direction and strategy to their team. They hoard information to serve themselves. They operate like a line manager whose only existence is clicking approval button in the system. No accountability on their part. Worst of all, they left for another job and the team picking up pieces.

Any layoff for grade M?

This is going down hill. Sad.

This is the only thing anybody announced anywhere so far - it's a shame:

Reminds me of a movie battle scene where the soldiers are defending the fortress following the order of their trusted leader. Due to low rations some are pushed out and the leader is no where to be seen. Good leaders show up in bad times.

No one asks them to say what's coming. They could at least make an impression they care about people and say thank you to those let go. Everyone understands things happen. The way management (all levels) behaves is embarrassing. There is no better way to lose respect of your people.

Because this is multi-year business reorganization. This is only the start. If they announced that more are coming (even to a lesser degree) it would only create more fear, rumors, hurt recruitment of top talent, etc....

Management doesn't care. You and me are just slaves, period.
