Thread regarding SAP layoffs

Head Out of the Sand Time

SAP's competition is laying off just like SAP is. In fact, every industry in existence is laying people off. This is why sales are down, not because of your manager or the guy across the hall whose sales are bad.

Go to Oracle's board, where layoffs have been going on for 2 years. Then go to every competitor SAP has and you'll find the same thing going on. And if you're really ambitious, go to Microsoft's board, Intel, Dell, and on and on.

Google it. Layoffs, layoffs, and more layoffs.

SAP has spent a lot of cash on acquisitions and Qualtrics was 8 billion. Then layoffs came to save 1 billion? This is all about looking good to Wall Street.

SAP knows the original core products are dinosaurs and the only way to stay relevant in the market is through acquisition. Some of the acquisitions are terrible. SuccessFactors version we use internally functions and looks like something from 2004. I've heard customers of Ariba complain that they'd rather shop on Amazon because the product UI and functionality makes no sense.

This is a growth company move, not a cost-cutting move; every dollar that we gain from a restructuring initiative will be invested back into headcount and more jobs

This must be one of the Management a-- kisser manager. Not affected and too free. Have to come and throw cold water on people. Hope this person gets the forced resignation next round with no payouts. It’s highly possible since every management change the precious butt licker gets booted out as well

Salesforce's market cap is equal to ours.

From the executive standpoint, C-level fumbled every single opportunity given.

Salesforce is up 4000% since the IPO in 2004. We went up about 150%. That tells you everything.

I think you need to get your head out of the sand and see who the real competitors are. They happen to be in the cloud in SF Bay Area where SAP decides to wipe out because they are too cheap to pay for local talents.

Are you an executive with SAP?

Salesforce, Workday, Coupa, ... these are the competitors. When was the last time we lost to Oracle?

Gardner forecast back in 2013 that CRM market would be larger than ERP. This has been years in the making.

SFSF was acquired back in 2011. Workday market cap is 1/3 of SAP! Has SAP created value through the acquisition and current layoffs or not?

Join the real cloud companies that are in growth mode. Don't work for these legacy companies. DEAD!
