who works for Devon - for a lengthy time. does not know if they will be employed in march. needless to say, past upper management made some big mistakes. no reining in of expenditures. no long term planning. no strategic planning and organizing. it's as if they start from scratch with each new ceo/coo ascension. actual employees suffer from top management blunders -of which there are many. they are not really "people oriented-(employee). they speak about employees being involved in daily activities and being allowed input as to how departments should function. but the reality is it never happens. the devon work environment is very political. right now, it stinks because no one knows who is being let go. change the mindset - oh ok lets use another $billion and a half to buy back more stock. oh, lets build this huge building costing over $800 million dollars. oh - lets start construction on another downtown building. oh ok lets continue to offer top management millions of dollars in bonus money. oh -ok lets continue to offer and maintain expensive perks for top management. It was once a crown jewel among Oklahoma businesses. now -a failed mismanagement shell of its former state. The percentage of floors now occupied in their new building is disgusting. depreciation and amortization is a plus. employee morale is at a new low. employee commitment to helping devon -at a new low and going lower. oh ok lets make devon an oil giant ??????? compete with the "best"??? all this will be done with just a (maybe) 15 year inventory /???? a $210 million reduction in G & A in 11 months?? stress, stress, stress. Lies, lies and more lies.
