If there was any method to begin with, of course. A lot of people posting that they got laid off from different locations and from different parts of the company, it’s hard for me to determine what method they used when they determined who gets cut. Any ideas?

Entire teams are being laid off regardless of your T level. We had T1-5 laid off all at once.
Going down a T level is difficult, as there are no processes in place for that. Been there, tried it, failed. It would have been possible, but there are consequences for other people that are not apparent at first glance. Hence, SAP really does not want to do this.
It is a difficult situation.
In India we are seeing layoffs in mostly T1, T2 position. In SF India we have have 80+ layoffs with most being T1,T2. Dunno what margin they are meeting with all this!
T5. Long before layoffs I tried to down a level for personal reasons. Very difficult. Not successful. Good luck.
Anyone tried asking to go down a T level and want to share experience?
Almost.
They nail the expensive people first then get the rest of the 4,4k quota in areas with no unions/workers councils to protect people.
Human revolution allright.
@civ nails it below
Its mostly old schooler with higher grades (T4/T5) in US (high performers / catalysts etc ...)... and higher average salaries... so its all for better margins ..so think twice before asking for raise .. work whole life on T2-T3 like a slave and be safe ...
