1vqh Talk to your “lead faculty”. JC gave them information to send to all FTF and adjuncts. If you received no email your Lead just is not doing their job.

(I hate auto correct)

Some (not all) AIP Online faculty did receive the email about closure, followed by the retraction, followed by a retraction of the retraction.

1jlk there was no email sent to AiO faculty - guess it was just sent to on ground faculty -- AiO is business as usual - again no word from Admins - email is silent

Any updates on AIPOD and AIP? Faculty received an email last night stating closure by Friday then another immediately followed retracting that statement due to not wanting students to find out about it. A student AIP reports that only 2 faculty are there right now and they are both meeting with a potential buyer.

What kind of severance package do they offer? Typically, it is something like one year of pay and medical benefits. Has anyone confirmed this? Will there be some management opportunities as the campuses wind down?

Who told you it’s a hard close?

Dear Employee,

A short time ago, I met with employees to discuss some important information about the university. It is with great disappointment that I share the news that operations at Argosy University, Phoenix may end this Friday, March 8, 2019.

There are a few options for our campus at this point:

• If a buyer acquires the campus and meets state, federal, and accreditor requirements, the campus may continue operations. This would mean that students would continue their studies without interruption.

• If we have a transfer partner that has an interest in teaching out the campus, the campus may continue operations. This could mean that students would continue their studies without interruption.

• If a buyer does not acquire the campus, it will close this Friday, March 8 and students will be provided information about transfer partners that are willing to assist them in reaching their educational goals.

As you know, we have been working to determine the best possible path forward for students following notice from the Department of Education (ED) that Argosy University’s application for change of ownership and conversion to non-profit status under Dream Center Education Holdings (dating back to February of 2017) cannot be approved. ED indicated that, accordingly, Argosy University’s participation in the student financial assistance programs authorized pursuant to Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, ended immediately.

Without these critical funds, the university, which is already in a difficult financial situation, cannot survive.

We are working with our accreditors, state regulators and the U.S. Department of Education to provide options for our students to complete their education and are sending notification to students of this matter immediately. We will host informational fairs on campus this Thursday and Friday, March 7 and 8 to provide students with as many opportunities as possible to continue their education.

I will provide you with an update as soon as humanly possible. In the meantime, please encourage your students to attend the transfer fairs to learn about the options available to them.

Sincerely,

Anthony Spano

Campus President

Argosy University, Phoenix

A hard close means you’re done. No teach out just ...done.
