Subject: An important update from Argosy University
Dear University Community,
I am writing to provide you with an update on Argosy University. First and foremost, I want you to know that current classes continue at Argosy University.
Yesterday afternoon, we received notice from the Department of Education (ED) of their decision to end Argosy University’s participation in student financial assistance programs authorized pursuant to Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965. A full copy of that letter can be found here. Today, we are filing an appeal to ED regarding this decision and will keep you apprised of the status of that appeal.
We continue to work with our accreditors, state regulators and the U.S. Department of Education to identify the best path forward for our students and are working with them to ensure students know their options. Today, we provided the following response to our institutional accreditor, the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC), regarding questions about the go-forward plan for the university and its students. “Our plan is to continue to teach current courses. We will provide WSCUC with details regarding any transition options that we are considering for currently enrolled students by March 8th, 2019.”
If, in the meantime if a student is in need of a copy of their academic transcripts, whether to order an official copy or to print an unofficial copy, they should log into the student portal and go to the “My Academics” tab. They can access their financial ledger there as well by under the “My Finances” tab and then the “My account tab.” The information posted on the student portal is the most up to date financial statement available from the university. Please also note that the university catalog is available at https://www.argosy.edu/admissions/academic-catalog.
Sincerely,
Mark Dottore
