Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Once the dust settles there will be cuts and closures

First time company is emerging from bankruptcy. Once the dust settles there will be cuts and closures. Eddie and the president of ESL said they will be closing under performing stores. This was in the dockets. They also said they will be running the stores lean. Give it a few months.

I hate to say it but @XNXHAg8-cai is absolutely right. The worst is yet to come.

No, Chapter 7 is the worst to come, not closures! When they fold up entirely, which is set now in stone, say goodbye to them once and for all!

@mzx I fully expect them to file bankruptcy again in a year or so. His small store appliance, hardware, and mattress plan has failed already, even when he added some softlines and apparel inventory as well. I would also expect to see the slow and systematic liquidation to begin again in a few months. He has already said he will close 3 stores a month starting in the near future and also close under performing stores as well. He also does not want to pay benefits so there go the full timers. We will keep our fingers crossed.

Don't be surprised also if they also declare bankruptcy again. It just happened with Payless Shoes and now they plan to shut down their whole operations in North America.
