"Why can't entire IT move to India? No need to keep anyone in IT in San Diego."

That's why my puter crash 5 times a day now. Great savings.

Good to hear about the layoffs. I've milked the Q for all it's worth over the years. 5G was developed when there were still excellent engineers around and the Q made great progress Now that 5G R&D has peaked... most of the knowledgeable, good engineers have left due to disillusionment to Q mgmt or better pay packages elsewhere. Only a small elite group of top notch, seasoned eng's left to keep it going.. the only reason they are still here is that Q realizes how impt they are and compensates them extremely well using other financial means (get my drift?). I'm sure the newbies are sharp with alot of energy... but with no seasoned vets to guide, tutor and mentor.... it's just a group with no direction. Sad to see these bright newbies attitudes change over time due to disappointment with the co.

I am one of the elite few eng's that is now moving on to the competition. I too am fed up with Q mgmt and the quality of the slacker employees left behind. Years ago, when you made it known you were employed by the Q, that meant you were a top notch engineer working with a top-notch company. NOW-A-DAYS.. you are seen as a second rate engineer WHO isn't smart enough or have the balls to move on, a left-over who can't find a job anywhere else. For the old-timers... wise geezers.. just milking the system and playing the game. Don't blame them, they've earned it.

The competition has offered me a extremely better pay package.. and the surprise about it, they reached out to me. The competition knows who are the key engineers are always willing to wean away key engineers to improve their product. So I am done with the Q, I was once a loyal engineer but seeing on Q mgmt is managing the business and the sad quality of upper mgmt in the labs... it is now time to move on.

BTW.. keep the hate replies to yourselves.

PMIC, SW test (ASW), VI all top targets to be geo-shifted.

Yes. Any group hiring quickly in India and asking San Diego team to “offload” and “geoshift” work is on the chopping block.

Nobody but C executives left and the G600 pilots on the San Diego payroll.

Will this be 'announced' at the shareholders meeting ? As part of the savings plans ?

Hi Team.

Some of this information is fake news.

The best way to determine if your job is being eliminated is see if there is a "geoshifting" plan in process. If there is significant hiring in your functional area in India then there is 99% chance you will be fired soon. Just remember the master strategic plan is to have 30% of the workforce in high cost areas like San Diego and 70% in low cost areas like India and Ireland (while tax credits last)

Look in PH and do the math.

Good Luck. I have updated my CV and am actively interviewing.

Any job that doesn't require a physical person (like an installer or someone who interacts with a customer) can be off shored.
