Fact: Students are Leaving!!!

I’m a student and left this quarter, not because of the financial aid debacle, but because admissions was let go. Common sense tells me that if new students aren’t being admitted, then it is only a matter of time before institutional financing dries up, which inevitably would lead to a campus closing. Maybe this isn’t common sense, but it’s knowledge that could be learnt in a basic high school business class. Henceforth, there is only one of two conclusions to draw:

1) The powers to be are complete id--ts and inept to save the remaining schools, as demonstrated by such decision making as letting go admissions.

2) The powers to be have no intention of saving the remaining schools, which means their actions is a cash grabbing scam.

Either way, I refuse to waste my time doing coursework that most likely won’t transfer when the schools close in the end. So, any of my fellow students reading this, transfer now while your hard work still has any worth.

"If you’re close to graduating, within six months, do what you need to do to graduate"

The schools in receivership IMO will not be around past March 31, plausibly June 30 at the latest (close of the fiscal year), but with minimal class offerings and only part-time instructors by then and no guarantee the needed classes for graduation will be offered.

Any student hearing of a school going into receivership, reading articles about it, receiving email from the school, and not planning an exit strategy should rethink their education opportunities. While the schools are still under a regional accreditation, and open so you can get ahold of your transcripts, get references from staff and instructors, this is the best time to transfer. Once you receive the teach out plan notification your options for transferring will be severely limited.

What DCEH school are you currently attending? There is zero reference to a school in this post.

Talk about a catch-twenty-two.

If students transfer out, the schools will close for sure. Especially the schools that are no longer enrolling new students.

"If anyone says the degree from the school is pointless, then I can just argue saying that every college graduate is paying an exceptional amount for a piece of paper that's framed nicely."

Unfortunately I used to work for DCEH (trust me I'm not proud, but I was one of the few in my building who wouldn't swindle students)

XJeCWrY-lew I can assure you that a degree from here is worthless compared to one from a reputable institution

If you’re close to graduating, within six months, do what you need to do to graduate, even if you have to take an extra course or two. If not, I agree with the original post to transfer quickly before the system buckles, or worse, accreditation is lost.

It's catch-twenty-two for me Bud.

I graduate next quarter, meaning I could get my Bachelors. Or leave now still pay my loans and not receive my degree. Either way I'm in a position to where I can get my degree that I worked hard for. Or get loan forgiveness (That might not even if be approved) and stop pursuing any college degree entirely, because if i recall correctly, if I try to pursue any degree after, that tuition gets added back on.

If anyone says the degree from the school is pointless, then I can just argue saying that every college graduate is paying an exceptional amount for a piece of paper that's framed nicely.

Besides, in my industry skill, trumps education in my field. At this point it is just a matter of pride in what you've done, and accomplished for that degree. Speaking for myself. I accomplished a lot.
