Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

COBRA for January layoffs

FYI - after receiving several bills for COBRA even though I never registered, I emailed HR and was told because they screwed up last year's layoffs, everyone that was fired in Jan was automatically enrolled in COBRA and that if I don't want it, don't pay the bill. Nice communications once again from TD. We still have until 3/22 to enroll and they will probably cancel anyone who hasn't physically enrolled by then at teradatabenefits.com. They've done such a poor job with all this that I just wanted to share what I found out . . .

They were very good at layoffs, in that they hired people at grades and ages to lay them off, some even after 2 weeks on the job, to get the quota's right and have the math show it was not age discrimination, however, the HR follow up on things like insurance is amateurish

I can vouch for them screwing up benefits/COBRA badly last year... a couple times.
