Good source tells me, lots of layoffs in the Ottawa area today.. 15 to 20 % .. gone ..

More than 50 people were laid off in Ottawa in June 2019. Mostly targeting management.

There is no strategy in Engineering in GPS. They couldnt bring revenue- as highlighted in Gary's all hands. The employees and managers have been leaving since the start of this year.
This layoff has more Directors and other P4 engineers. All this while hiring parallely in India, for a product with no customer. You do the math.
50'something is not 15-20%, especially if it's targeted and mainly due to re-org. If anything, that's healthy for the folks who survived. Sure, you'll always have some bad apples that are left behind but this round of layoff is hardly something to be alarmed about or be afraid.
I heard that it was about 50'something employees let go today.
I hear they started in GPS, not sure how far and wide it goes.
