False. Did you know when vz goes into negotiations with cwa , they use us as an example to bargain with the union to undercut their employees? Example is “look! They don’t have a pension, higher costing benefits, make considerably less. We want you guys to do the same.” They throw a packet on the table of the garbage we get and they want to do the same to their workers. It’s pathetic. And you really think this is going to take business away from us and bring to vz?!? What are you smoking? One has nothing to do with the other. By bettering us they don’t have to use us as an example to negotiate. If we all do well they can use us as a baseline. We all prosper at the end. Ask a guy with over 5 years in vz how much he/she makes. You will cry when you hear the answer because you don’t make near what they make. You have zero power to ask the company for anything. They will give you nothing. I’m in for a measly 2 percent to have a fight in what I want. Without a union you are powerless. June 2020 the psc agreement expires and there WILL be cuts. It’s just that much cheaper to farm out the work. These are facts don’t be ignorant on what’s to come. It’s all about money and always will be. You are just a number.

So you feel good about our competition coming to talk up joining their union with you? You are the problem here, one tech to another. First they’ll take your money. Then they will take our subscribers. Then they will take your job. How dumb are you? Please, vote for Verizon’s CWA, and hope they remember you when your on the unemployment line.

I can’t wait to give them minimal amount of pretaxed money for years of relief. Shame on you guys for making a big deal out of practically nothing. Good luck being an at will employee. STAY STRONG & STAY UNITED. Best of luck to all techs in Hawthorne!

How people forget the times. When recession hit they barely gave a raise and told you your lucky to have a job. Then Brooklyn went union and all non unions workers got raises. You think that was not to go union but that raise was the same amount you would have gotten if the recession didn't mess things up. They know how to play the game and have a team of lawyers. Due yourself a favor and protect yourself before another recession hits or wait until the agreement's expire. Remember they still haven't implemented the famous Altice Way in the US yet.

  • federal tax = 25% -- okay

  • child support = 17% --- fine

  • state tax = 7% --- cool

  • city tax = 4% --- what the heck

  • union dues = 2% --- you must be smoking..GTFOH!

Because you only eat that percentage once. It doesn’t go up 2% each year unlike your salary.

Please explain how my math is wrong? 2.5% increase in base pay per year right..but I have to pay 2% in dues so only .5%

Now do this math. 1 holiday, 3 sick days, a week for holiday bonus, a performance bonus, a year end discretionary bonus, and a ridiculous increase in health care costs. I'm no rocket scientist but it seems like 2% off the base isn't so bad.
