Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

What to expect from Walmart on the earnings report?

In light of the earnings report gives a good preview on what to expect from WM’s numbers. This is, of course, just one point o view so I was wondering if I could get some thoughts on this board how do you think the numbers are going to look like?

You did not use your sick time, you were not going to be paid for it. That’s how sick time worked. Do you get your insurance premiums back if you don’t file a claim? No.

Nothing was stolen from you.

If use all your PTO up and do not have any left late in the year that’s on you. Don’t want to work holidays, get out of retail. It’s not complicated.

1dou, if you want to live in your imaginary Walmart world, then good for you! The fact is Walmart took over $4000 worth of my earned accrued sick time and made it worthless. Maybe your really naive enough to think that isn't stealing? but most are smart enough to see what Walmart was trying to accomplish. As far as holiday pay, my PTO is maxed out by January whether I work Thanksgiving or not, therefore I get nothing extra for working major holidays, not a dime. Maybe you think that's a good deal but the rest of us are smart enough to realize it when we're being screwed.

Your views on non earnings reporting matters within the company are not a valid judgement on the earnings statement. It was a big win for WM.

Nobody stole anything from you. Holiday pay?, how is not paying that any longer because it’s PTO based stealing? Sick hours, same thing, replaced with PTO hours.

Bonuses for hourlies just became potentially larger and easier to achieve with profit not being a factor any longer.

How could they not knock it outa the park when they constantly take and steal from their employees. Whether that's taking away holiday pay, bonus/incentives, or just plain stealing sick hours and never giving anyone a raise. How can they go wrong? at least in the SHORT term. Good luck with that working in the long term when everyone realizes what a c-appy company this is to work for. Walmart is stuck hiring from the bottom of the barrel and anyone who sticks around has ZERO reason to work hard and will do as little as possible. Good luck Walmart, your gonna need it...

Im glad Walmart sales are up, good for stock. But, like the article said. They are stiil struggling on gross profit.... the back end. So, you cant really go by those numbers. I would say, look out for more jobs to be cut and more changes.
