Get over it

For those who think Sam Walton is rolling in his grave......guess what....Sam was the first to say we have to embrace change if we want to succeed. Change is what keeps companies moving forward. If you cant handle change, GET OUT AND LET THE REST OF US HAVE YOUR HOURS!! You don't belong in retail.

Very true. Sam was all about accepting and embracing change. He would be proud to see what his little 5 and dime has turned into. As for the associates, it was Helen that made sure he took care of them and treated them right. Sams quotes make for great sound bites but she is the one that got the benefits put into action.

Sam Walton is rolling over in his grave about your post that he isn't rolling over in his grave . He wouldn't agree how workers are treated like the TV show survivor.

It is true-----Sam Walton was not the angelic, Karma dispensing hero of the working man. None of these super rich American capitalists are. You can't get that big by not being everything we've come to hate in our One Percenters. He might be roasting down in hell, but he is not rolling over in his grave.

Any talk of what Sam Walton would do in the 2019 retail environment with a company the size and scope of today’s WM is speculating at best...nobody has any ideal...

I doubt that Sam wanted the 3rd generation to simply listen to consultants that charge 10,000 dollars for a PowerPoint slide. Current WMT management are anti-intellectual. All they care about is doing exactly what the consultants tell them to do. Plus, ensuring that the most important thing is purging the company of straight, Christian, white males asap. Identity politics, diversity & inclusion and equality of results are the most important priority. The H.R. function is destroying the company.
