Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

No future at GE

Everybody should know this by now. Everybody should be looking for a way out. Literally everybody.

This company will continue to shrink until the only thing left is a skeleton that can't function on its own, and will then collapse and take whoever is left with it.

If you are smart, you'll be long gone by the time that happens.

None of them were stupid enough to live paycheck to paycheck. They all have that fat GE money in the bank waiting for a rainy day.

The only ones left are the desperate with no place to go. They put everything they had into making it big with GE and financed their lives accordingly. They can't leave on their freewill because they traded it away for a chance at something bigger that they never really worked hard to earn. When you're a high school drop out that stands in front of a machine and make $80k a year, that's not being lucky, that's being a mistake that hasn't been corrected yet. If you don't believe me, go out and ask the locals how they feel about us. I haven't found a single one who feels sorry for any of us because they know how good we've had it with our pay and our jobs. If we went on strike, nobody here would care, except for a local politician or two! I'm speaking about Schenectady! Everything happening to GE right now is nothing more than one huge correction. We are finally being seen for what we always were!

Even the planned HQ is shrinking. Leadership is giving back $87 million in incentives and selling off parts of the land needed for the new HQ.

In reality, between HQ people in Norwalk, Cincinnati, Atlanta and other locations it really never made sense to move to Boston.

Next, I wonder how long it will take Larry to remove the GE Logo from the Celtics jersey’s at $7 Million per season plus the cost of data and analytics.
