RR doesn't care... He is too busy lining his pockets, together with all his friends.
I can't imagine you really want a serious answer to this, but why not. Cisco has a much broader customer base and much more diversified portfolio which makes is easier for them to weather a downturn in a vertical or product line. So unless something goes really wrong at the macro level, they'll generally do OK. But hop on over to the Cisco board on this website, lots of grousing and stealth layoff talk going on over there, too.
This focus on quarterly reports "and making our Wall Street number" is what is killing a lot of companies right now, Juniper included. People can nit pick on this board about the company's problems, but nothing is going to change the larger market situation except execution and time, if it ever happens at all.
