Thread regarding Dream Center Education Holdings, LLC (DCEH) layoffs

Is there a legal window of when stipends need to be disbursed?

Thinking about the stipends not going out - is there a legal time limit for which the students should have gotten them? Do they have any rights to pursue legal action? Can/ will DCEH get fined or accreditation pulled for being almost a month late on stipends? Is it just Argosy? Or are AI and South in on this too?

Straight from the most recent AU catalog online: All student Title IV (federal) financial aid credit balances, if one is created for the payment period in question, will be issued as a stipend to the student no later than fourteen (14) calendar days...

Financial Aid Stipend Return Policy

Excess Title IV (federal) financial aid may be used to cover other education costs for students that approve and submit authorization for the school to use excess Title IV funds. All charges not covered by Title IV funding are the responsibility of the student.

All student Title IV (federal) financial aid credit balances, if one is created for the payment period in question, will be issued as a stipend to the student no later than fourteen (14) calendar days:

After the first day of class; or

The date the Title IV credit balance appears on the student account.

Students receiving federal financial aid who withdraw or drop courses will have any credit balance on their accounts returned to their lenders or to the appropriate financial aid program as required.

Isn’t Richardson’s niece, Shelley Gardner, responsible for all of financial aid? If Dottore says that the people responsible for the missing financial aid money will be held accountable then their best best is to start with her.

Pretty sure the rules for stipends is dictated by doe, and it’s 14 days from date the title iv disbursed. Probably can look it up in the i.f.a.p

I don't see where in the "financial aid stipend return policy" it says that long con fraud schools can abscond with student funds at will.

But it is clear we are living, at least since the 2008 economic meltdown, in super lawless times. The Lex Luthors of the world have been emboldened and will continue on this path till the f---ers go to supermax prison. If this does not happen it will be so long s---ers and more golden parachutes for these b--tards with the trusting first time players (students) holding the bag of sh--.

Wondering fretting and hand wringing will not change a thing. THEY MUST GO TO PRISON! The question is why don't they? Look at this piece to understand why things don't change. It puts it all into perspective.

The same thing is going on at AI & South. This is the biggest, most unethical move that AU, AI & South have ever attempted (other than graduating students from an unaccredited college and not informing the students that the diploma is completely useless). Literally stealing money from students (the textbook definition of theft!).

Keep telling yourself that you are working there for the "right" reasons. Keep telling yourself that you are not involved in this scam. By all means, please do not think that by continuing to work at AU, AI or South that you are not contributing to the problem. Please keep your head in the sand and pretend that this is all business as usual for a college or university. This is criminal and anyone who works at any of these 'fraud halls' bear some responsibility. If the administration and faculty were to stand up and speak out as a whole, this would not be happening (or at least there would be some action to clean this mess up). But that is not the case. Everyone please go back to your jobs and let the theft continue. We can all pretend it didn't really involve us.
