Thread regarding Juniper Networks Inc. layoffs

Discrimination

Why so many DEs/PEs in PFE/Contrail team.

No PEs in many other teams. Is it not discrimination?

or AA->NK->promotioms/hike affinity which is not there with other team?

It's true that Juniper's Indian roots run deep. If you come from a respected caste, then your chances of layoff is smaller. Folks who travel to Bangalore and Sunnyvale on a regular basis to kiss executive @ss (such as my manager) have a solid chance of surviving till Juniper's end.

Favor for first eng, do you mean DK? Never worked with him so no opinion. I know several DEs in EVO who are really very good and have been in EVO for 5+ yrs. Really sad that it is not in production even after investing so much time. Who is managing EVO these days?

Evo was run almost as a favor for the first software engineer of Juniper. He should be given an office with plush furniture and dancing girls on the 7th floor and the rest moved to a new project - NO LAY OFFS PLEASE. These are all top notch developers.

EVO was not in production when I left last year. The team had great DE/PEs but most of them left because it being horribly managed.

Is EVO in production yet?

Evo should have been killed a long time ago. The entire program is poorly envisioned, managed, executed. It is destined for a disastrous failure.

All the resources could be better utilized by moving them to a Evo 2 that is more hybrid cloud and 5G focused. Some Evo concepts are great, so they should be preserved, it must be lightweight. Not bloated.

Problem is, this will be very tempting for the the top execs to implement "cost cutting", aka ... Layoffs.

That's a great question. Now, when company doesn't do well, the DEs won't get laid off.

So, Juniper can just continue with PFE and contrail and dump everybody else.
