The problem in Hawthorne shop is there’s to many people that don’t know what their doing. from managers supervisors and some lead thecs. It’s not what you know. It’s how you know . Tooo many RATS in that shop MB and JC just a few.
He’s no rook that’s the management playbook paying dues and putting promises in writing sad pathetic, now they care they, (management) have never cared. Its about self preservation, Local Management will not stick their neck out for a tech unless they can control them and are using them to control others.
Hey new guy, wich I doubt you are, you sound like a management stooge. But let’s say you are a new guy, that’s kind of the problem around here, no one feels like respect or position in the company needs to be earned. You’ve been here a few months? I’ve been her 13 years, your opinion counts very little compared to a guy like me. Shut up, do your job, and when you gain a little perspective, ask some one with seniority if you can give an opinion. Here’s my advice to the new guys, vote yes for a union, sign a card, and maybe you can be here 13 years too. Otherwise go assume the position for management, they like to have their way with rookies.

I left the company and am currently in a union. I can say that we have more strength in numbers as union brothers. Things can’t change tomorrow because it’s better for the company they need to adhere to a contract until negotiations. Im not saying it’s perfect but them taking away sick days wouldn’t have Happened and they would still pay out. Keep what you have. The pay might not be that good but your vacation time is 10 fold what other companies offer that soon in your career.
Hey NEW... I have a better idea. How about when we do go union you ask to be moved to a non union shop. You got some set of balls to do any preaching here.
Well I have been on the job for only a few months. Seems like a fun and good job yes the work can be hard but that's life. I see some talk about respect. I was always told you give respect you get respect back on both side and that is what i have gotten from all in the Hawthorne depot. I only say this is because I have been part of a union and never got any respect or anything they promised. Also to those who are talking to the union ask the union rep or the head of the union for everything they are promising to be put in signed document. That will never happen. By the way I let not forget union due's. estimated could be 1000 to 1500 or more a year on top of what you would pay for benefits and other things like PAYING DUE'S TO GET RESPECT. Last thing I just don't think its right for some people who feel insecure about there job get to choose the path of others. If you guys want to be union so bad go work in Brooklyn be well be gone.
Sr. Management take notice. The post from “construction supervisor” reflects accurately how we are spoken to by some of these people you’ve put in charge. Forget unions, how about just some respect for starters.
