You know, with Walmart basically trying to get rid of cashiers, Kroger should advertise the fact that they still have actual people to help the customer check out.

It just means you are in denial. All unskilled jobs will disappear soon. Don’t expect customers to save your job for you. I used to hate self-checkout. It has improved significantly and will just continue to get better. Now I prefer self-checkout and that, IMHO, is the wave of the future. Learn to surf.
It doesn’t mean I’m wrong though.
