You notice there are two type of temp/contractors at Q
1) those who dont stick around long
2) H1Bs from Manwpower etc.........they stick around on the promise of hiring to FTE............that can be a while.....
It depends on the company. One company I worked at treated contractors as any other employee. You were expected to put in as many hours as fulltime employees, even though they didn't compensate you for the extra work. You had to work because there was no other choice.
Years ago, I went from Permanent to resigned and came back as a Contractor to work with QCT directly as my “manager” in EngDisservices didn’t have the electronics background necessary to draw the schematic for a flashlight.
I can tell you with complete confidence: all companies treat contractors like sh_t. Microsoft, Goog, AAPL, And, Qualcomm. If you want to make money at contracting, work for the recruiter company.
My Contracting at Qualcomm experience was a cubicle in a break room in WT. While I was delighted to be away from Corporate, your coworkers still congregated in those break room to hold your loud conversations in full view of chip designers trying to keep their jobs.
