Worked at DQE for over a decade and I am heading for the door, job offers abundant. Can ram any compensation package. Wipe my hands of this archaic organisation. Pied piper is calling.

Shear lack of organisation that’s coming from the top who are based in Houston. Plenty of employers looking now for skilled employees people will go regardless. Reputation is trash
What’s letting DQ down is the shear lack of organisation, this whole process is being made up as they go along. The fact that DQE keeps on blaming Houston is a poor excuse, have small balls and get this process complete so at least the workers can decide if they want to work under the new structure or find an alternative. As for the compensation package, if workers aren’t allegeable for the voultary package they will still leave.
Long term people jumping ship .. end of an era. DQE have had enough so many good people leaving and looking to leave. Ruined a good place to work. DQ reputation as employers Is abissmal in Aberdeen with people and job agencies.

It gives a breakdown of redundancies per occupational group i.e clerical, professional, manual and so on. It also outlines the method that will be used for the redundancy process and a date for when they will complete the process. If what i have heard is true this was submitted by DQ to gov on 4th of Feb and the document was given to the reps on Friday.
What is this HR1 Form?
If it comes to light that the reps are withholding any info from the employees they are representing then the whole thing needs to shut down, new reps put in place and the process must start again.
Why have the reps decided to withhold the HR1 form info. At least give us a rough idea of the numbers at risk.
How the hell can they afford to get rid of anyone? The machine shop is already under staffed and can't cope with the work going through it. If they do pay off the workers won't struggle to get a new job as everywhere are looking for machinists in Aberdeen currently. What Blake and his fat cats can be certain of is the people they do pay off won't come back and they won't get anyone else either due to the companies horrendous reputation.
Houston manufacture so much cr@p. No customer wants to do business with them. Compared to ours all there machinists are greenhorns. We have very fertile soil also. To grow grapes.

The whole thing is a farce. Grape boy is completely incompetent and doesn't have a clue what he is doing. He obviously wants to steal all DQE work due to no customer wanting Houston c-ap. In reality this is proving difficult to achieve as many customers want no dealings with the Yanks. 40/50 was only an estimate, it could be less and it could be more. Judging by the current work load DQE have and customer reluctance to deal with fat Yanks they are going to find it hard to pay anyone off especially since more people are jumping ship everyday.

Well that was a complete waste of time. Only a discussion on the redundancy package that still not right. Nothing about numbers to be paid off, and still 40/50 to be layed off, with approx 130 still at risk looks like almost a third of the workshops will go going. Cheers Blake for being so organised

Won’t matter what the reps say, DQ will do whatever they want, they’re playing a game to keep it legal, remember the last layoffs, 84% vote in favour to change hours and it was ignored.
