Rumors flying around that there’s a union meeting tomorrow. Don’t know how true this is but I think both shops need to be involved as much as possible. Find out the details and spread the word . Don’t be the last ones to go . Stand up and put an end to this madness caused by Management.

No more internet...dying industry...lol. do you think before you write? Nothing is faster and more reliable than a fixed fiber line. Period. Plus...with the other wireless carriers wanting to extend their networks via small cells like Verizon...dont be surprised if they start buying us because our infrastructure is already in place. And if a take over happens..where do you think you may be without a successor clause in a cba?
Capt your position won’t be in existence if you don’t protect it. They will hire a contractor not from Altice technical services to do the same job you do at lesser pay. A contract can give you the right to the work. But you don’t care about that.
If it’s a dying industry, no contract saves us. The fact you think our jobs are going away just show how uninformed you are. Sorry folks, no more internet! Keep your union out of our shop and let us enjoy the good life. You should’ve picked a better place to work than Hawthorn if you wanted quality of life!
Your local management may treat you great but look above them don’t be so trapped in the country clubs in Nyack and Greenwood Lake. Look further of what was taken and what can be taken. Whose to say they don’t look at Greenwood lake and say it can’t be fully run by contractors and they just get rid of you guys once they get a chance. Let’s say they get rid of the office totally and make you report somewhere else further away. Then they proceed to take away dispatch from home. A contract can protect this. Don’t say we didn’t tell you guys. This is either a management troll or one of the Team captains speaking leading their ship in the wrong direction. Protect and take pride in your work. Afraid of paying 2%? Whose to say the company doesn’t freeze the cost of living raises taking money for themselves? At least with a contract you will have this written in stone for how ever long the contract is. If there is contract negotiations and this freezes you will get a retro for the money lost. Be smart not dumb it’s worth the piece of mind for a dying industry as far as cable goes. As for the fiber we will see what happens. Please protect yourself we all lost over 2% by losing our yearly bonus and the sick and personal payouts plus the days taken from us and bonus.
I’ll prove you rite! No union here, they treat us great, and we do our jobs, we get paid! No %2 from our salaries to support a no longer relevant union!
Guys from Rockland and gwl have no balls. Period. They are mostly management a$$ kissers or just out for self. Prove me wrong.
