I see by some of the posts here that there are people who believe that Broadcom acquisition is the best thing that could have happened to CA. I certainly don't feel that way but I'm curious to find out how many people really feel like they are better off now. How many of you are out there?

Happy but wish band level stayed same for bigger bonus and much more RSU. Feels like demotion at times and manager said promotions are unlikely. Not a dev though
It is too early to tell. There is still a hierarchy albeit thinner and a lot of waiting for them to decide things. Still expecting products to be sold off in spite of the contrary. Paychecks are smaller (minus bonus) and have to wait 4 years for RSU. Ask again in October
I took a stay offer that includes half a million dollars in RSUs over 6 years. And yes, I'm still going to be here. Broadcom rules!
Great post @XB0w44W-dbn . I think it should be more visible on this board, so I'm gonna make it a thread.
@bikeboylover Totally agree, I did the same. CA was a pretty awful place to work in truth, and there was nothing to keep me there. So grateful to have the opportunity to take redundancy, and not be forced to stay or leave with nothing. So much time wasting in CA, meetings for nothing, and people on the whole were pretty clueless about their roles, products and the industry as whole, even worse when it came to actually knowing anything about their customers. I think there were maybe a handful of people I met in EMEA who I thought did a really good job.
@XB0w44W-dbn, that is the vibe I'm also getting. Definitely like Charles CA in the 90s. Flying by the seat of your pants. The expense policy definitely reminded me of the old CA. On the down side, I do get a sense of fear that did not exist in the Charles days. Layoffs were very rare when he was in control. That is not true at Broadcom. Still, I think for those of us that stayed our fate is still better off than if Bike Boy and the BOD had remained at the helm. They lacked any vision other than driving the company in to the ground.
@XB0w44W-dbn, the sad part is that CA moved like that 20 years ago, before it was infiltrated by IBMers about to retire.
I feel better off at the moment with the acquisition. Though I miss some coworkers terribly, I’m having a great deal of success working more quickly. If I want to deviate from an old process and try something out, I don’t have to jump through firey hoops and 400 levels of approvals. I’m still working face to face with customers and doing what I love so no changes there. I just find work moves a lot faster and email threads are a lot shorter when I only answer to one manager and the customers. Personally optimistic at the moment.
I am better off now, but I was stay and resigned to take a great offer at another company :-) I heard that some people on transition have been taking stay offers, but this would be in NA / Apac only. The redundancy package in EMEA is too good to give up for a stay contract.
veracode are the only winners in this story if you ask me.
