Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

The most special part of a SPLS has always been the people

Everything stated...so correct . The company founded by TS was truly an amazing success. He grew a wonderful retail company and shared the rewards with the organization ...the people. Anyone who was part of the growth of Staples will remember it as one of the most special times in their working life. The company could do no wrong . TS was the last great leader at SPLS . He understood the office products business and was highly engaged in every aspect. He made the industry exciting .

It is the exact opposite of today. It is not about office products or innovation or sharing success or growth anymore , as you all clearly know. It is incredibly sad to see what happened here .

The most special part of a SPLS has always been the people. Hard working , dedicated , smart people.

Tap the SMART part of yourself. Accept what has happened and go find another adventure . It is unlikely that things will get better , or the company gets turned around , or the people will be the priority once again. Go be happy somewhere else . SP does not deserve your loyalty or hard work.

TOM STEMBERG was a genius and giving only initials is an insult to his memory. Those of us who were here during his tenure knew how great he was. He made very associate feel l8ke a VP and knew how to run this company. Ron burnt it down and SG threw the dirt on the grave. Now BCG has worked with senior manage,ent to plant the flowed on the grave. Let’s not even talk about. NR who was a 1 trick pony.

EB an unqualified leader?! TR an unqualified leader?! You’ve lost your mind. EB is one of the smartest individuals I know and one of the best leaders for motivating transformation. TR was the architect of the Furniture PM team and the reason they are as successful today as they are. The ones left, such as SS or VM, or MdL are the unqualified leaders. SP is relying on the BCG to remove the qualified leaders and knowledgeable seasoned personnel that can lead and guide them. Instead, SD is the equivalent of the Pied Piper leading all of you koolaide drinkers down the path of destruction.

SD or SP, Stephan is leading both through this so how can you say it’s not SP. SP is in it for the cash, not to save Staples. Stop being deluded.

SP is not the enemy here, it's the former leaders that burnt Staples down to the ground. SP had no part in that. They are here for a purpose and they will execute. And yes they deserve our loyalty as long as paycheck is rolling out. What they need to do though is look deep into the structure of the company, all these so called leaders who are there for Nothing, they need to get rid of them. Unqualified leaders that know nothing about their roll or the business. If I leave, it's because of management, not SP. Period. Sandy, I think you are a good leader. Don't stop weeding them out. I like you, I really do. I beleive in you, keep doing what your doing!!
