I am from security team based in sunnyvale and today some folks were let go. I also heard about support/TAC folks are affected

Security can mean two things, either the IT group that provides network security within Juniper ( called Infosec grp) or the engineering group that develops security products sold by juniper. If the former is laid off, it means now IBM owns the responsibility whereas if the latter group is laid off ( in US) then it means all of juniper security development happens in China. And we have our president waging a trade battle with china. Funny if his tweets and mails go via products developed in China!

Any reasons why EVO should be killed. Wasn't this supposed to be the next-gen OS to replace Junos? Is EVO in production yet?

Not sure about the EVO team, but Juniper should certainly kill EVO.
Is there any impact to EVO team?
Surely moving jobs to India means jnpr does not care about quality anymore?
