Thread regarding Altice USA (Cablevision) layoffs

Greetings from chartervision

I thought you guys would like to know that we are currently in the process of decertifying I be representation. Once they are bounced out of here the domino effect will be felt across all companies and your union will be next on the chopping block.

This biggest mistake made in the cable

Industry was the use of contractors. At least in the Ibew areas. You created your own scab strike force , hungry poorly paid uneducated slugs ready to jump in for any increase in pay. Now they dragged an entire industry down. Ruined it forever. Working people f---ing over other working people.

Wait till the union is voted out. You will see a real f---ing of working people like never before. A $15 hour McDonald’s job will be better then being a cable tech. So sad

Although I don’t agree with your overall message I appreciate your insight. I think we have very different issues from your company. We are dealing with a company that came in swinging the Ax from day one. I know you guys got a raw deal. I feel for you guys who lost everything. But other then the same industry we can’t really compare.

You people dont seem to understand. theres nothing separate, about what's going on where you are and where we are.

These companies are all interconnected like the public wifi we share. And the Verizon phone service you use on your work phone.

Ibew could not help us. Yes scabs didn't help but that's neither here or there. Regardless of who jumped anywhere the industry has changed as a whole. No union can change that as ibew proved. We stroked for almost 2 years now with no results except for alot of brothers who lost their homes, marriage, etc etc. It didn't help that ibew called the surprise strike without a vote. Because 2 years prior we couldn't secure a contract. So in all we've been without a contract for over 4 years.

I tell you this because too many of you are douche bags with smart mouths that speak out your behinds. Every post is lies, promises, malicious, spiteful, and childish selfishness. You are part of the problem why unions today are weak.

But regardless there was no stopping anything that happened between our companies. It's just that most of you didn't help you rather be online jackoffs. We've been paying ibew for nothing. All that was left was job security and they cant even provide that anymore. So we are voting them out. Now they will try to get their money from you. Like id--ts you'll think they care and your good. You'll learn the hard way like we did their no better than the corporations we love to hate.

Once they are gone from here. You better believe these companies will want the same thing Charter achieved. All I will tell you is do not strike. You wont get anything for it. Trying to look out for my fellow techs and engineers. But feel free to take what I said personal and make jokes. Our hell is ending yours is just starting. Do what's right for yourself and family. Brotherhood has its limitations.

Cool. I bet they can't wait to replace you with contractors. That should save them some money. Good luck!
