What time is the Town hall meeting today?

Town hall today stated that majority of layoffs will be completed by Q2. Each utility VP has been assigned a target to meet. DOesn't matter if its through layoffs or cost savings.

With an all utility meeting on Jan 29 the layoffs must be coming before then. They can’t be that callous & tonedeaf to do it after that

So what about the Craven and McIllwraith job switch? Anyone hearing why they did that?

Are crushing debt and mismanagement still the primary reasons for the poor performance of Enbridge’s stock?

I think this is very specific to UG and EGD, although there have been (and may be more) layoffs in the Shared Services that support the utilities. For example, there are also people in IT who are supporting UG and EGD systems who will eventually be impacted from those systems get consolidated. I think that kind of stuff is on a different timeline though, and a lot of it has already gone through a round of restructuring.

I don't think I would take the UG/EGD layoffs as a sign there will be more layoffs in other parts of Enbridge... the UG/EGD stuff this is to deal with two very similar utilities becoming one and dealing with all the redundancies. It's similar to the fall-out from the Spectra take-over, it was just delayed because the utilities have extra regulation and the Ontario Energy Board had to approve the amalgamation. From what I've heard, most are getting decent raises this year and STIP is good, so it feels like Enbridge sees itself on the other side of the Al's sh--ty diamond, although the stock price tells a different story.

Will there be more layoffs in the non-EGD/UG BUs, or have the other BUs now stabilized?

There are headcount reduction targets, as well as broader budget reduction targets. The headcount targets are different for each department - some with fare better than others, although the ones with lower targets now will probably just get hit harder later. I haven't seen how it all adds up, but I would guess it's at least 500 layoffs across UG and EGD in 2019. At least.

Does anyone know what the targeted number of layoffs will be? I'm sure the 2019 budget is set by now which means they know the targeted number of layoffs req'd to fill the gap

Finance already had their purge in November. From what we saw then it was low performers and those high in the salary penetration ratio (PR) for their job function. I heard that a couple from finance had put their hand up to go. There are duplicate functions now in the merged company, there will be lay offs. This is not unique to ENB, you hear about this everyday in other companies and industries. I do agree it will likely before the next town hall. Makes sense

Enbridge will be letting more people go and UG has a huge target on its back.
