Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Latest on Apple dispute.

Seems like it boils down to which company can survive longer without the other.

Official numbers & one of the comment reads

'cause Apple latest products won't have Qualcomm chips anymore, their biggest source of revenue stream is now cutoff'

Apple is getting it at all fronts. Forget about the iPhone sales drop. If the App store antitrust case does not go in their favor, they're in for a bigger trouble long term.

hard to tell who will last longer. They are both bottoms who swallow so who knows. My money is on Cook. Southren boys know how to take it deeper and longer

The question is which CEO is going to last longer. It's not a guarantee that Tim cook would outlast SM at this point.

I suspect SM (and other corporate officers) are more concerned with short-term stimulus to extract maximum value from their stock positions on a sinking ship rather than long-term value for the company. Hence buy-outs, stock buy backs, etc. If Apple is being honest about the lack of engagement to settle this dispute out of court, then this supports my hypothesis.

Unless you're near the end of your career or are essentially unemployable due to loss of engineering skills (sorry, Power Point is NOT engineering) you should be looking elsewhere.

The median annual pay of Apple employ-ees was $55,426. That is far below the $240,430 at Face-book Inc. and $197,000 at Alpha-bet Inc. Like Ama-zon.com Inc., which reported median annual pay of roughly $30,000 because of its vast number of ware-house employees, Apple’s median pay is suppressed by a huge workforce that staffs its retail stores.

When are you clowns and the board going to realize that SM is incompetent and should not be in the CEO job. The one bad thing that Sanjay did is make Molly his heir apparent.

QCOM is being 'jumped' by multiple people fighting for survival and you choose to join the bullies?!?! Very sad, I root for QCOM, standing up for what is right, following the law, pushing invention forward for all, not just the strong.

It's like net neutrality, without QCOM, there will only be two choices, Apple and Huawei. Wake up

(Reuters) - Qualcomm Inc (QCOM.O) said on Tuesday Apple Inc (AAPL.O) Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook's comment that there was no recent settlement discussions between the iPhone maker and the chipmaker were "misleading."

"We have been consistent for the last 18 months in making clear that we have, at various times, been in discussions with Apple about a possible resolution to our licensing dispute," a Qualcomm spokesperson said in a statement.

Oh yeah SM talked to the front desk receptionist several times !

“Qualcomm and CEO Steve Mollenkopf have repeatedly said the company expects to settle the dispute with Apple outside of court. Reports from in and around Apple have denied that likelihood.

"We haven't been in any settlement discussions with them since the third calendar quarter of last year," Cook said Tuesday. "So I'm not sure where that thinking is coming from."

Qualcomm did not respond to a request for comment.”

Well, well, well SM, what do you say about that?!
