I understand the need to settle this in court, but looking at the media statements that the leadership of the two companies are giving in the media, Apple and Qualcomm look to me like an old couple that love each other, but are constantly fighting. We are talking, we are not talking, we are close to a settlement, we never spoke….. The fact is that Apple was a good customer for years, also the fact is that Apple was pretty satisfied with Q’s products, they just don’t want to pay as much for them. Also, they are taking a big risk with Intel, given that everybody relevant knows they have inferior products at the moment. Couldn't have the company officials just sat down and work it out at everybody's benefit. This way they are just stirring up a hornet’s nest, with no predictable outcome, not to mention the media circus.

Mav hates Qualcomm. I've worked both sides of the fence and basically all our customers hate us.
aberle is the reason not molly
@jW-2fqp -yes a Cialis moment in the making! Where the new couple hug and kiss in the courtroom and Judge Koh dismisses the case just as the funding runs out.
I agree with OP
OP has a point, with SM's boyishly metro good looks and financial witticisms, how can Tim possibly resist in the long run? Sometimes, we just have to know when it's right to take one for the team...
Apple won't pay 100B, 10B max
SM, that's why. How can Apple not stand up to such a poor businessman. You do realize Tim Cook runs Apple, and the Boston Group puppets SM. It's true, SM hired another company to do his job. WTF but it's true
because Q is a dysfunctional mess clinging to life by their increasingly irrelevant patent portfolio
Why any apple just buy qcomm ? Its just 100B and settle it for good..
Apple wants to use the government it bought to kill qualcomm. Qualcomm does not want to die. What's the middle ground here? Coma?
Have you worked with them before or you just "think" they were good customers?
Total misinformation ... Maverick was never a good customer. Good customers don't steal software and give it to a competitor.
The argument is about Royalty rates. Apple wants it substantially lower from what I read.
