I wonder if we'll even be able to get that.

It's not necessarily that simple. People on unemployment in less-densely-populated areas sometimes find they can't make their quotas if they don't apply for some jobs they don't want.
40 hours? Sh-- I was working 60+ hours a week when we announced. 49 hours was a normal week.
@X0zIAPe-tks Pretty much this no matter if the company goes Chapter 7 you are still entitled for unemployment as long as you weren't fired or quit.
This is going to be my first time applying for unemployment. I heard its pretty easy to do it in my state and its best to do it online.
Now if you cant make it with unemployment you must have lots of expense. You won't be able to enjoy unemployment in the end. A lot of my co workers are freaking out because they are already broke and in some type of high debt. This 2 months and half was the time to milk the hours (they were giving basically 40 hours a week in my store). Save some of that money bank it and just take it slow via unemployment time.
Just don't be dumb enough to apply for jobs you don't want. easy peasy.
If you meet your state's quotas for reporting job search activities every week, and accept the first job you're offered regardless of how lousy it is, yes. (Unemployment compensation isn't as sweet of a deal as some people think.)
Odds are you'll apply for unemployment , get one week into it , and get hired somewhere .
