The reason would be that IBEW is undermanned. Techs worked an average of 60 hrs or more a week for almost a yr to keep up. They had contractors and CWA from other states and parts of W.V come to assist. Its hard to keep up with 5 counties with 30 people. When you have one CWA county with 30 techs and people sitting in the basement of a C.O. Im sure the CWA techs that had to come work these areas can tell you the difference.

Maybe in CWA...IBEW cant afford to have techs doing nothing. When you only have 10 total techs(C.O, IR, Cable). CWA has people sitting in the basement of the C.O doing nothing, and being paid more than IBEW techs.
Why would Frontier hire in the panhandle region of WV when there are employees sitting around doing nothing!?

Let me get this right, so layoff an entire union? Usually, layoffs are based on seniority. But when you have areas that had 30 CAF projects, numerous trouble tickets, several Metro E orders, dont think it would be based on lack of work? Sounds like maybe yall dont have any work if yall can be sent all over the state. Sounds like there could be some legal issues. No layoff for you only means the company promised to keep you a job, doesnt mean where.
Layoff a busy area where you pay techs way less? That pay way more for benefits? It will take 2 to 3 times more CWA techs to cover the area, with their job descriptions. Good luck... then where are all of you going to go in 2 to 3 yrs?
