Thread regarding VMware layoffs

vSphere was designed for data center.

Now people want to masquerade it as cloud and force feed customers. Customers ain't buying. People keep clinging to this delusion about "private" or "hybrid" cloud: cloud is cloud, private cloud ain't cloud, it's enterprise datacenter that has been saturated, hybrid cloud isn't cloud it's at most an utility to help datacenter communicate with the real cloud which lives somewhere else. The whole notion that vmware should and customers would buy into the b---s--- vsphere/vcenter as cloud argument reminds me of Microsoft's "windows live" days. Even MS wasn't stupid enough to have windows dictate how it develops Azure.

This is a new world and if you want to survive it better adapt and develop something new, dressing up your old pig won't make it a falcon, it certainly would never fly. As VMware pathetically has been attempting to do.

Sh-- post. Seriously. Clouds are made up of data centers. So as long as the tools around it manage multicloud then what difference does it make?

Deals are getting bigger. Multiple 100M deals this year. That’s unheard of a few years ago. If you hate it that much quit. Or stop trolling.

a cloud is just someone else's enterprise datacenter that's partitioned off for you. there, now you don't have to be confused anymore.
