The case against Apple could cause more trouble than we might think

SM insists on using the word 'settlement'. 'Settlement' implies the outcome is in some way agreeable or even satisfactory. But the reality is that the 'verdict' could well overturn decades of the entire business/licensing model of Q. The verdict could 'vindicate' Apple and result in billions upon billions of reduced revenues going forward and even possibility of billions of fines and damages and compensation to both Apple and many many other damaged, aggrieved OEMs and licensees.

The verdict could recognise the fact of Qs abuse of position/patent/licensing process; undue burden of % of sales price licensing and the outrageous abuse of standards essential IP. Will the courts mandate breaking up Q to ensure the licensing business is walled off and isolated ? Will the legal wall of separation essentially see the end of Q ? April, trial begins, could be nearly 9 more months of this drawn out saga of turmoil.

Some valid question have been brought up in this post by @Wxfhdrj-kca . Decided to repost it as a thread.

SM is probably praying for a settlement, as it's always a risk to go to trial. The fruit company seems very confident in its position.
