Anyone know who got the short end this time?
Saw large group of people being walked off premises
I saw no townhall officially schedule to log into so was it only certain depts? What was discussed?
It’s not a rumor though.. people really were laid off today. Someone is in denial.
RUMORS....RUMORS.....RUMORS.....WHY DON'T YOU PEOPLE GET A LIFE!
Heard there were lay offs today in Hagerstown, what department?
So today is the day, eh? Let's see what happens before the next round of telephone begins.
i heard tomorrow, May 15th. in O'Fallon will be let go. Not sure what groups. I have also heard the rumor that the site will be closing eventually. Not sure how much of this is true about the closing part.
Heard a new rumor that they will be sending many people to work from home. Budget doesn’t allow for everyone to get severance. Hmm
Noticed a lot more desks missing computers which we were given a heads up that it was a cost saving measure, but I'm not buying it.
No confirmation on meeting
Any confirmation on the meeting?
How many sides has a circle? Answer shall revealed
Read the topic of this post!
Ok guys think rationally. The ones who set up PC’s are contracted employees and they wouldn’t get a 60 day notice
I heard there might be a meeting 5-15. Will try and ask around on Monday.
Has anyone heard about a big town hall meeting coming up in the next 1 or 2 weeks or some kind of big meeting?
I think we can learn a lot from yesterday (5/9/19) . Many IT employees were given their 60 day notice. How many? I am not sure. More info on this would be helpful. How many IT employees do we have in Hagerstown and how many of them were given their 60 day notice. Their last workday is June 28th. They are not replacing the OM's. They are not replacing the Site President. He is still classified as an interim president. A large amount of our IT was just given their 60 day notice. If we were moving over to bldg 1 they would need the IT employees to make that move. It is only my opinion, given the IT employees last day being June 28th, that Hagerstown site is closing and we will all be given our 60 day notice and sent home before June 28th. Again - this is only my opinion. I believe when we are given our 60 day notice, we will be sent home the same day. I believe this because of the sensitive nature of our jobs. They will not tell us what is going on due to our access of mass amounts of private information until the day they send us home. If anyone has any information of how many IT employees we have and how many were given their notice, that would tell us a lot. If it is all the IT, then that means a definite closure. If it was most of IT, I think that would also mean a definite closure while keeping some IT to dismantle all electronics.
Can anyone confirm a big meeting for next week in Hagerstown?
to make it clear how severance works... Citi's policy is 2 weeks severance for every year of service. You get your severance less withholding (taxes) after the 60 day notice. 60 day notice is required by Maryland law. In many cases, they are sending people home for 60 days at full pay then you get your severance in one lump sum. After you get your severance you have to wait one full week to start receiving unemployment. Unemployment lasts up to 6 months in PA and 6 months in MD. For more about how much you would get in unemployment payments, just look up how unemployment payments are calculated in your state. They are not reducing severance packages as some have suggested. After the crash of 2008 and all the layoffs that Citi did in those first few years, Citi changed their severance package from 4 weeks for every year worked and made it 2 weeks for every year worked. There have been no changes since. They would notify all employees in writing if they changed their severance package.
That's sad for however many affected, wonder why they didn't give a total number affected since they know.

Wish they would tell us what is going on
I am with the last comment. When OM's move to a new role we don't seem to get new ones hired on site but other sites OM takes over. I would also think that if they were relocating we might be hiring soon also. There have to be roles our current staffing can't fill with promotions.
I could see moving to one building, but if you look at what they did in South Dakota they built a whole new site which they called "right sized" for their new staff size of about 1800. We are down to around 1200 (last count I know). I can't see us staying in our current site and just occupying one building since they didn't do that in SD. We might be in one building temporary at the current location until they either surprise with a relocation or continue to layoff and discontinue our site. I'm leaning towards the fact that we are closing like 90%. Why do we still have an interim president from Atlanta if this wasn't the case. SD knew about their new building well in advance.
The tenants are no longer on site. They built a new building and no longer site. I am wondering if the site will close entirely or reduce to one building? Thoughts?
In Bldg 3 there is only one floor being used according to the folks I have met who work at the records company.
Omg...MW or circuit city is not going in there. Two companies that already went out of business lol. The pics from the site are of B2. There is some one in B3 already
I heard the site is being turned into a new Montgomery Wards or Circuit City. That real estate posting is for bldg 3 though.
Okay you stay you spoke with corporate. I do hope you inquired why they would close the site before the daycare is closed. Also, the building is owned by Citi. True, the ownership did change a while back but was deeded to an entity of Citi. And why would corporate release this information? I highly doubt this is verifiable.
think it means 60 days from when contract is signed
https://www.loopnet.com/Listing/14700-Citicorp-Dr-Hagerstown-MD/12115363/ Look at this office space for lease available in 60 days last updated 5/6/19
I am eagerly awaiting an announcement to come and have something official finally. Love hearing things but wish the leadership would just be straight with everyone already or someone to get a bootleg press release. Have been waiting to see if another site gets CITTS or test center duties in the job boards but haven't seen anything yet. Not sure if there is a sister site already for them.
No need to get "butt hurt" over my comment. I think everyone could agree the more info the better to legitimize your information. I've been sensing s*** going down for at these two years and it seems to be down to the wire. I want to know what's going on. Well see if there is an announcement soon.
What does “it’s done” mean
How does one talk to corporate? Who at corporate told you? Can I call corporate and ask?
I got the info from Corporate. June 28th it's done. Formal announcement is coming
By now our site leadership should just be honest with us...you know!!!
What are your sources? Where are you getting your information?
There are so many rumors. I just heard today it won’t be anytime soon and now it’s next month. I wish someone would just tell us already. Site leadership has to know the rumors are circulating. Either confirm or deny don’t sit in silence
