Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

Some optimism for a change

Even though this article had some parts that I don’t agree upon, like the statement that company officials are buying GE’s stock is an indicator of growth, I found the general conclusions of this article to be very truthful. GE still has the production potential and a majority of its businesses have the potential to generate good revenue, with some smart leadership and effective changes we have a strong chance of getting out of this mess.

GE may have the production potential but they're quickly losing the talent. People are realizing that GE is a sinking ship and their skills are worth more, and better appreciated elsewhere. We're in the midst of the best jobs market in decades. If you can't find a better job now, you're in real trouble.

We are not at rock bottom yet. Also, stock purchases are no indication of turnaround. Exec's have been buying stock throughout the decline.

Things will always get better. After all, when you've hit rock bottom, there's nowhere to go but up.
