Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Well, well, well...

I was laid off over a year ago and I asked an innocent question on here regarding the criteria for who gets let go and who doesn't. Got all sorts of smarmy replies saying I was likely the weakest person in our division, my position wasn't important, etc...

Well, a little over a year later it looks like one hell of a lot of people after me are weak and not important.

Maybe if it were true about letting the weak and unimportant people go they should've started with the management. Us grunts did the best we could, handling the day to day work that kept the company going.

Really doesn't matter at this point given the condition the company is in.

Your complaint is akin to a passenger being told to leave the Titanic before it set sail on its fateful journey to meet an iceberg.

Anyone who backs Sears is an id--t. You licked the boots only to get them shoved up your butt, yet you still defend them. Their management led them down the same road as Wards, Service Merchandise, Korvettes...own it.

You can easily pick out the "managers" who bought into Eddie's b---s--- "transformation" speeches.

You all make yourselves look pathetic.

Better strap that head down, else it's gonna roll away once that rug is pulled out from underneath you.

So youz was laid off (now its changed to "let go") over 18 MONTHS ago, but youz be doing sooooo well that you feel the need to return to the smarmy site for more abusement instead of concentrating on seeking employment

It smelled the 1st time around and its only ripened more in 18+ months

mommy wants the computer brought out of the basement again

p.s. laid off and let go can be interpreted multiple ways I tend to agree with your "let go" assessment

Typical HR response. One of the most worthless positions ever invented.

Wrong "dude"..I was let go with 400 others in June 2017. Do you always make judgments without knowing the facts? You must be in management...."dude"

And it's an ignorant comment to call out laid off Sears workers as having a chip on their shoulder.

The company screwed the workers.

You were let go from Sears, and not as part of a mass reduction in force. That's really not a great sign dude. And then you came back with a chip on your shoulder about it. From an HR person's standpoint, the general opinion was probably right.
