Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

Two senior executives depart the company

Staples officially confirmed that the two executives from it’s North America operations are leaving the company but didn’t provide any further details about these departures. Both of them are company vets. Was hoping to get some thoughts on this, as there seems to be a wave of departures of people in high positions that have been with the company for a long time.

This sounds like more of an external person digging for details as anyone internal was clearly notified.

Is it really surprising that a couple of old timers riding the wave as it crashes down are shown the door? SM was fairly well liked, but he was also more than a little bit s-xist and racist (so many inappropriate comments, like embarrassing things your grandpa would say).

what are you talking about? There was an entire town hall with every member of the home office field leadership and supply chain leadership invited to discuss the departure of SM?

Sycamore took over the company and is replacing the top-ranking executives with people who are more to their liking. There's no reason to believe that these old-guard Staples executives had anything transformative left up their sleeves after all these years.
