Hiring freeze is happening industry-wide. Many memory companies (DRAM and/or NAND) already implemented this. Probably, not the best time to be fired.
Micron is kind of late. According to my best knowledge, some departments/locations are still hiring.
People indeed are finally taking steps to secure a stable future for themselves. That doesn't exist any longer with this company. As has been stated many times here, no one will retire from Micron. There are still people hanging on until the last day of their employment hoping Micron won't get rid of them until then. Then they will complain about how they have been so mistreated. They are just staying so they can collect unemployment. Great plan for the future, right? Micron has made their plan. You're not in it.
There is a hiring freeze in Fab4...and the other comments are very accurate.
No, they have open positions they cant fill. micron wasn't prepared for the number of 2s that opted to hit the door rather than stay and play their game. Also entry level manufacturing jobs are not being filled. Job seekers in the market realize they can do better...people are finally seeing what micron is all about and it shows.
