Thread regarding Sears layoffs

I sure don’t miss the ad sets during the holidays

Got a new job where there are not weekly ad sets and it’s a great feeling

Same here. That plus having to unload and process trucks when the store was short handed, having to run around the store going crazy to find an item missing in a web order (usually over an item that was small, inconsequential, low in cost and easily pocketed by theives) Having to load treadmills, riding mowers, mattresses and appliances into customer vehicles with no help, having to be chewed out by customers when their item they had us send out for repair hadn't come back from the repair center after waiting for several weeks, or having to sift through a pile of stuff without labels, all tossed back in the PMT/RTV area, because the associates doing the returns out on the floor couldn't be bothered to include the tag the register would have them print out and the managers never bothered to "coach" them on how to do returns properly -- even found things that were never used, worn or open. Oh, having to do shoes, too.

I don't miss it at all. Looking back, there's two or three SST/MPU associates who I worked with that are still there, plugging away at that job--for meager pay--a year after I left. I don't know why they stay.
