Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Too little too late - the NXP deal is dead

After the announcement from the Chinese president that China would reconsider giving the approval to Qualcomm for the acquisition of NXP, if the acquisition efforts were to happen again, Qualcomm representatives stated that this deal is a resolved matter and that this deal isn’t going to happen. Personally, I wasn’t a big fan of this deal in the first place, so I’m a little glad that Q doesn’t plan to pursue this. In any case, think that as a company we shouldn't mix with political matters and that abandoning this deal once and for all was the right way to go.

Just as well. The $44 billion was an insane figure. Current Market Cap of NXPI is $25.361 billion.
