Something coming by the end of the week but very hush hush. Some speculate the announcement that all Ais are closing or DCEH is declaring bankruptcy

Any word on the announcement?? I haven't heard anything yet.
When is the big announcement happening?
Whoever posted about millennials needs a serious reality check. At my school, most of the c-ap work was performed by millennials and they all cared about others- to the point it was exhausting. They especially cared more than all the old farts just trying to make it until retirement. Check yo’self.
Let’s not kid ourselves people. The only people left at dream Center are people who are 1. Severely over paid for the remedial work they do. 2. Aren’t marketable to other employers due to lack of skills / real translatable work experience. Or 3. Hit in the head with a shovel at some point in their life. Don’t feed this c-ap that people are still there because they want to “do the right thing”.
I do.... look at all the lives you ruined because you were playing the ignorant card. Flipping B.S. weasels!!!
Y’all need a sobering does of yer own medicine.
@WreM9nw-2qcv I am not sure anyone really wants to see others in unfortunate situations, but no one has any say in what happens at an Ai or an AU. There is no autonomy from DCEH, they call the shots and local administrators have to follow their direction. Staff at Ai didn't vote to decide if we should file bankruptcy, and I would assume the interim president, provost, deans, associate deans etc., had no say in it either, DCEH made that call. Students who stay at an DCEH school will lose everything they have paid for to date unless they graduate before a school closes or loses accreditation. Those at HLC schools lost everything technically January 1, 2018 when HLC quit recognizing those schools as accredited. AU is on warning and AiP on show cause, that plus students receiving a letter stating their degree choice did not meet gainful employment guidelines should have sent all students to other schools. It is not wanting to throw them out in the cold, it is trying to protect their financial future that all DCEH schools should be shut down ASAP. As far as staff goes, it's a job, just a job, like a factory or coal mine, you have no say in how it is run, you are just expected to do as you are told, keep students happy so they re-enroll, and enjoy being micromanaged as you would be in a call center - that is all most of our jobs are now, from admissions to faculty, we're just a customer service call center trying to keep customers happy so they keep spending money.
It is better than being a greeter at Walmart. As we head into 2019 with this fake health insurance app and no talk of raises, no sense of security, we'll all do our jobs until we find better ones, but we hope students see through the smoke and mirrors and make the best decision for themselves they can make. If it is with DCEH until they fold, or if they find a reputable school to attend, we do wish students well - but seriously, if you can make a decision for yourself, find a community college (at 1/4 the price for a better respected associate degree) or a state university (again at 1/4 the price for a better respected degree). Or if you have money, find a nice private college (not a franchised for profit or non profit). Make sure they are regionally accredited and not on warning or candidate status. Online is only the way to go if the program is through a research, state or private university, for or non profit online is a joke.
Wow, I have never seen so many people wish so may others such misfortune. I guess, maybe I was brought up in a time where people genuinely cared about others and wanted to see them do well. My guess is the majority of the people who are wishing doom and gloom on everyone are the millennial's who are not having everything they want handed to them and are being asked to work for a living. I feel sorry for people who see no good in others or who can't step back and find some humanity in looking at what could be done to fix the place rather then, when does my check arrive so I don't have to deal with my fellow workers or students any longer.
Anyone who thinks they are staying “for the students” is delusional. Staying for a paycheck is realistic through the holidays but anyone who opens 2019 employed at a DCEH school-assuming any stay open-is a tool of people who don’t give a damn about you or the students.
The students want it to close and think y’all are weasely con artists....
Stop stroking yourselves
Please do us/students all a favor and close down.
Aio meeting just canceled with no reschedule -- something definitely is up.
other meetings this week were also canceled
1skl -- I'm with you!
if it wasn't for the students - let it burn, melt, blow away like the wicked witch -- 'I'm melting'......
For the students let it turn around - and blow away all the wicked witch's helpers.
Looks like we may all get our Christmas wish of taking this place down! Oh that's right, no job, no mon, no fun. I for one am hopeful they can pull this out of the fire in one way or another. We have too many students who have put their trust in our enrollment, academic and management teams to see this go south on them. Not to mention, there are a lot of good people at DCEDH - most of them made it through the nastiness of the EDMC issues and are here because they want to do the right thing. Those of you who are only here for the $$$ should leave now and let us have more of a chance to get through this and the holidays.
1xkj and the beat goes on -- baroom baroom baroom - there is more to this story most likely
Shouldn't all this be publicly posted some where what they are doing?
According to Bloomberg, Ai is a DCEH subsidiary and did file for bankruptcy while under DCEH.
The Art Institute of Pittsburgh LLC is an educational institution that offers courses in design, media arts, fashion, and culinary industries. The institution was founded in 1921 and is based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Art Institute of Pittsburgh LLC operates as a subsidiary of Dream Center Education Holdings, LLC. On June 29, 2018, The Art Institute of Pittsburgh LLC filed a voluntary petition for liquidation under Chapter 7 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

1ihv last summer a connection was found between edmc and Ai-- bankruptcy -- I guess one could contact Delaware and ask - it is public information.

'One University' some of the posts are from 2012
@WreM9nw-1wlx check the page, I might have missed it, but it only lists the Ai, no mention of EDMC except for a website.

I can’t believe this
"Transforming lives people, transforming lives" Oh, brother!
Please cut the c-apola. Once the Dream Center willfully got involved in predatory education to a fault, the entire Rev. Ike scheme was out of the bag.
Have schools been operating under "The Art Institute International II LLC?" They have a 6/29 and 12/3 filing.

No way, DCF loves Ai, "'We feel the Art Institutes have a good history, despite the last few years, and we'll be able to turn that back around,' said RB, managing director of the Dream Center Foundation." "The foundation funds programs through the Dream Center Los Angeles that provide job training and free preparation classes for the California high school equivalency exam, as well as a host of services for the homeless, veterans and impoverished children. RB said acquiring EDMC aligns with the foundation's desire to use education as a means of transforming lives."

Transforming lives people, transforming lives.
DCEH hasn’t been paying taxes either
Independent of this post, I also heard bankruptcy is eminent. It's all going down soon.
Cue the clown music
If they can’t sell the remaining Ai schools (minus AiP and AiO) to Studio Management the whole circus shuts down by end of year.
Not crazy. They’ve already cut everywhere they could. The “raises” were a joke. People are leaving everyday through voluntary and involuntary means. When you’re seeing those that work higher up on the finances side leaving it’s time to get out.
It IS hush hush -- big meeting on Wednesday --- agreed with speculation
