Thread regarding DeVry Inc. layoffs

I Guess All is Well

The boards have been quiet, so I guess all is well: class sizes are lovely and small, perhaps no more than 20 in a class. DeVry has raised its standards and is only admitting prepared students, who actually want to learn. Quality of instruction has risen. There is no guillotine in the court yard--everyone has amazing job security. Students are happy because they know they will get a great job and will be well able to pay back their student loans when they complete their studies. I guess all is well...

DF is celebrating some kind of independence of Devry and posting emails. I guess he is Thomas Jefferson to SB's GW

On a lighter note...I hear it's holiday party time at the campuses.

That training course was such a waste of time. Almost as bad as Connect Flex!

A few minor tweaks, sorry.

There must be some kind of way out of here

Said the Joker (RP) to the Theif (DH)

There's too much confusion

Students don't get it in only eight short weeks

We're businessmen, let's drink our wine

And cash out on short term growth

This fruit is rotten on the vine

But no one knows its real worth

No reason to get excited

The Thief (DH) he kindly spoke

There are many here among us

Who know DeVry is but a joke

Cause you and I we’ve seen to that

And Wardell has sealed our fate

So let's move on to DCEH

And close Art Institutes--great!

All along the ivory tower

DeVos refused to keep view

As the for-profits came and went

ITT, and Kaplan, too

Outside in the cold market

Student loans did swell

The education bubble was close to bursting

Borrower defense to repayment started to howl

--Apologies to Dylan and Hendrix

Hey, I think I saw RP the other day. He was hanging out under the street in a storm drain gutter, talking to some kid named Georgie about a lost boat. I didn’t stick around to see how it turned out....
