Thread regarding McKesson Corp. layoffs

McKesson 1 Post Closing

There was a SVP at McKesson named Paul Greenall. He came up with this insane proposition called McKesson 2021. Part of it included closing 1 Post, our flagship Corporate HQ, and moving to Texas. Greenall abruptly then left McKesson after his team was sudden shrunk almost overnight.

Yesterday, our soon to be CEO announced that 1 Post would be closing forever. Please note that the location was in a seedy location off site. We now have two options to either move to Texas or lose our jobs. He pretended to care that we were affected. Our incumbent CEO decided to dial in from his multi million dollar estate from New Hampshire like the boss in Charlie's Angels.

AS for non SF locations, HR will probably too busy with moving 500 jobs and retention issues to get their c-ap together with another major layoff for the next few months. Have a merry Christmas everyone.

Seems like relocating is a big risk. You’re still an at will employee. Those living in SF should think long and hard about leaving such a good market.

I also worked at McKesson as well and remember them, twice, relocating different groups of employees to another state only to lay them off within the year. Unless you love Texas don't relocate. I agree take the package.

Do not move to texas I worked at mckesson before and their scheme is to get away out of paying severance. They forced employees to relocate then laid them off all at once. Evil company.

You demand severance and not move and get unemployment.

@WpYm6g9-ihls : I have no doubt that there are hundreds of former employees who feel exactly the same way. The Hammer and his crew of id--ts have no idea how to run an effective company. Throw cow turds against the wall and, if it sticks, call it innovation.

Would it be mean of me to say I think this whole situation is funny?

My few, short years at Mckesson were the worst years of my life. I should never have stayed as long as I did. I hope I live to see the day McKesson entirely ceases business.

@WpYm6g9-cetk What a mean-spirited thing to say. The vast majority of the people having to decide whether to relocate had nothing to do with this or previous decisions about moving, RIFs, or re-orgs. They are workers, not executives, presumably just like you. The way you phrase your statement makes it sound like you are a disgruntled worker. Rather than disparage your fellow workers at one post, why not offer support?

Glad to see the One Post crew get a little of what they have been doing to other offices over the years.

No one is shocked by this. Therefore, we don't need to remove our heads from our backsides. You though can refrain from your condescension. The means by which they did was hardly smooth.

Greenall leaving in the manner that he did after he created this monstrosity is interesting. It's karma.

This is part of the major RIF I mentioned on here months ago. They know that 95% of people offered to move from SF to Dallas are not going to move. They will not backfill all of those ~500 positions in a one-to-one fashion in Dallas, many or most will just be eliminated.

And you're shocked by this? Was it NOT evident to you that McK was done in SF back when the building was listed for sale? Get your head outta your a$$!!
