Thread regarding Bayer layoffs

This is huge!

Everybody knows by now Bayer is cutting 12,000 jobs, but what I'd like to know is how many of those are here in the US?

Knowing how notoriously difficult it is to lay people off in Europe, I'm guessing they'll cut as much as they can from here to cushion that blow.

find new company to work outside St. Louis, ASAP. St. Louis is not a good place for career or family

This will be an opportunity to trim older more expensive workers. A company like Monsanto will want people right out of college with current skills sets, so that will certainly enter into the cuts.

Monsanto cuts will be severe, especially in support service such as HR, IT, and accounting.
