Thread regarding Thomson Reuters layoffs

Personally I enjoyed my years working for both and enjoyed my job.

I worked for Reuters and then TR for 11 years and the atmosphere of fear and bullying sounds like a different company to the one I worked for.

I was based in London office and then spent some time in Europe also working for TR.

Personally I enjoyed my years working for both and enjoyed my job.

Funny enough I used to live a few miles outside Andover and I didn’t even know TR had an office there :-)

When I was offered the opportunity of volunteering for the severance package , it was the right time to go (2016) for me.

Sad to read people employed by TR allowed what is documented in this thread to happen.

I was employed by TR (Reuters) for over 15 year and I was made redundant in 2012. I know change is hard but I still believe that TR was a fantastic company to work for - I had excellent experience working across Europe on a variety of products. The separation was amicable. The heart/ego took a bit of a hit. The redundancy package was good. But most importantly, I got a kick up my backside to look for a new job (which I should have done much earlier but I was comfortable at TR). Today, I am in a much senior position with a good job, and skills in demand. I am confident that most of you will end of with a good job as forced change generally lead human beings to re-invent. Have faith in yourselves. I wish you all the best.

I pride myself in answering every email, getting to every request and having good time management skills.

But this org makes it so hard with relentless garbage from Jive, appreciate, TR communications, my director etc..

Meanwhile important info (besides layoffs) is never communicated or gets lost. You have to lucky enough to hear it from a coworker
