Thread regarding Thomson Reuters layoffs

When will it end?

It might be nice to have some non-vague communication. Of course, TR is what it is, and why it is where it is.

I think they want us to work in fear and be grateful for just having a job. Watch for no raises next year.

New management has no idea about what made Thomson such a great place to work. Morale is in the toilet and the quality of work is going to suffer tremendously. I felt at the time in 2008 that Thomson buying Reuters was going to lead to this day and sadly I was right.

Canada IT gone, outsourced in some other country who does not even have a clue as to how our systems function. The head of TR must really beginning to see the end of TR in sight. You cannot honestly think that this company will survive by gutting every department of their workers and keeping your directors by just giving them a different title? Who on earth is going to do your work. Outsourcing everything is not the answer the fall out from what you have already outsourced is visibile every where take a look . Black days ahead for TR is all we see now

Had a meeting with a VP today, ostensibly called to address work issues with so many departing staff. Everyone gave a quick rundown on status not even mentioning the reason for the meeting (departing staff.)

All info has been thru the water cooler.
