Thread regarding CA Technologies (CA Inc.) layoffs

Are January layoffs a certainty?

I'm considering leaving CA Technologies on my own, but I've seen more layoffs in January mentioned here a few times. I certainly don't want to jump the gun and leave now and find out I could have received a severance if I had waited just a little longer.

Any chance somebody knows if January talk is true or just more unsubstantiated rumors?

CA will be out of business except for MF. Who will buy a product from a hollowed-out company? There are plenty of other solutions out there.

Its Just a mind game by Broadcom . By this time you will be wondering how Broadcom decided about stay and transition of employees . STAY per region per product 1 employee in Support . This employee will take care of L1 support till June . Slowly issues will start moving toward SE directly after April - June : the time remaining transition and contractors will leave the company . BC will give huge shares to Stay Employee to take that load of issues from April end . You will be thrown out once issue load goes down and SE slowly adapt in taking issues directly.

What makes you think anything like 4 years is a safe bet? Broadcom has a reputation of giant RIF within a year or two of acquiring and definitely if they dont start hitting targets fast.

If you are a STAY and not a TRANS, you most likely have a job for at least the next 4 years.

If anything, Broadcom cut too much. I wouldn't expect any more layoffs with the exception of non-performers.
